Handmade, Up-Cycled, Salvaged, Found, Vintage and Pre-loved Items.

It is an ever-evolving shop concept that brings together a stylishly eclectic mix of vintage, salvage, handmade objects and handpicked items deserving of a second chance.

The Tin Barn Market first opened its doors in an old TIN BARN back in the summer of 2011, just outside the charming town of Almonte, ON. This was a casual ‘Sunday Only’ affair with an open air flea market feel and a small shop full of vintage, handmade and neat collected items for home & living.

When the weather got cooler and it was time to close up for the season, a new friendship blossomed between owner Errin Stone & designer/puppetmaker Vicki Veenstra. It was then that the idea of a pop-up shop for the holiday season was born. This new partnership seemed the perfect breeding ground to pursue our shared love for percolating uncommon ideas, treasuring found objects, and a desire to create magical spaces.

The first pop up shop found it’s home in an 7′ by 42′ hallway (literally) between two sweet downtown shops on the mainstreet of Almonte and opened for the months of November and December. We filled it with elements of nature, twinkle lights, and neat little finds – transforming the space into a cozy winter cabin feel that welcomed people with a selection of re-purposed and handmade gift ideas. Who knew a hallway could feel like home so fast!  Since then we have hosted a one day Valentine pop-up event in an old Ontario Farmhouse and then landed ourselves a sweet spot (literally!) on the mainstreet in Almonte, taking up residence right in front of Baker Bob’s commercial kitchen!  We set up camp there for the summer, smelling (and eating) lots of baked goods and then, when Bob moved his kitchen next door we expanded to fill the space he left behind.  We feel so comfortable here that we have decided make this our permanent location.  After a little bit of renovation we re-opened officially-officially in March of 2013.
