Rosemary’s paintings focus on the theme of yielding to our surroundings. The emphasis of her subject matter is the spirit of everyday objects as they appear to her in a moment of quiet. The viewer’s eye is attracted to what is unpolished; a dented old colander, a milk crate strapped to the back of a bicycle on a Montreal street, the custodian’s sink in a school cupboard. The subject is developed on canvas, creating scenes that echo a reflective mood, when we find ourselves relishing life’s prosaic scenarios.

Rosemary studied Fine Art at Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario and Illustration and Ceramics at Sheridan College in Oakville Ontario.

Rosemary Leach’s work appears in private collections across North America. She regularly exhibits work at the Ottawa International Airport. She is represented by Koyman Galleries in Ottawa and Art Avenue in Toronto.
